  • just finished the latest volume and enjoyed it as per usual, but it’s probably a slightly weaker volume in the series so far. the story progression is still on the slower side but I think everything is well written enough that it doesn’t really get to boring, well the food and materials stuff a little maybe. But it’s not too draggy when it comes to those areas, so it’s not too bad. A lot of the characters are likeable, and they have realistic behaviour and motivations imo, which helps the immersion a bit. there were more info about dalia’s parents in this volume which i feel like could set up potentially more interesting plots in the future, and of course her magical tools are just getting more and more influential, which could be another potential plot too.

so far i think the only major plot is the romance element which can be a bit of a slow burn, so i think it would be nice if other major plots starts progressing more in future volumes. Overall still one of my favourite shoujo romance series. I’ve enjoyed reading most of the volumes in this series. Despite the slow romance, both FMC and MC have clear enough reasons for the progression to be on the slower side. I think the moments they spend together and slowly build up the relationship, slowly realising their feelings, etc, is more believable than most other series where characters seemingly just fall in love with each other at first sight. I think it will make the payoff a bit more worth it. the side characters are getting a bit large in numbers, but most of them are interesting/funny enough at least.

  • Despite mostly everyone else´s reviews, i give this a good 7,6 out of 10.

The romance is slow and leans very much into the “mutual misunderstanding” tropes, but the MC is not a “OMG WHAT DOES HE THINK ABOUT THIS NOW???” kind of person, instead it is more about both MC and her love interest (singular, mind you) being dense to their own and each others feelings.

    That is all.

The entire rest of the LN is also decent, the writing is pretty good, the characters have (explained) motivations that are quite in the “Oh, X will be reacting like this, right?” thinking, making it easy to immerse and ponder instead of getting curveballs from known people.

MC´s own merit and lack of non-love denseness is refreshing, though she also has the “singled minded pursuit/mad researcher” trope going.

All in all, it is a good story, fun and entertaining to read, and pretty decent.

  • Use the mirror instead of the main link, that will take you to Mega which actually works unlike that box junk, no matter how many times I hit download on the site the main link leads to it does nothing.

  • Unable to download the vol 7 epub file

  • volume 7 please 🙏

  • Thank you for the update! ^_^

  • thank you!! waiting for the PDF update ^_^

  • thanks for telling us your story. honestly i was wondering what’s this novel is all about since i came here from manga. i can see that it doesnt worth my time reading it. manga is more fun imo. and looking at the Ln raw in some pirate website, there are 8 volumes, the pace of this novel. id say lets wait till there are some progress. until then.

  • Reading this now. Vol 1 and 2 done, at 3. I’ll give it a 6/10. It’s inviting enough to keep reading although I find myself skipping the boring bits (aka the food and drink bits).

I like te creating (magic) tools stuff but it’s not the focus of the story which is a mistake imo. The real focus of the story is, no not romance, food and alcohol. This is obviously written by someone who likes to eat and drink and pair the two (a foodie?). The story is just an excuse to write about foodie stuff.

Luckily if you ignore/skip the boring repetitive food/drink stuff there is stil a decent story. But it doesn’t progress very fast with all the food/drink stuff injected into the story. 3 Volumes span about a month. The stuff that’s happened could have fit in one volume.

  • So vol 2. Before anything else, the story and characters itself ain’t that bad but I don’t think they ain’t that good either. Interesting and made me chuckle from time to time too.

But, the pace of the romance and the way the Mc alongside the love interests acts, put that together, it really can get obnoxious. Like what I said before, felt rushed and somewhat forced. Practically in each volume the love interests is always there one way or the other, and the Mc somewhat oblivious to it but pretty obvious to the readers that they are head over heals for each other.

If the romance was better paced and the Mc not so…Idk. But in any case, if it was done differently and better, then perhaps it would be a good read. Thus fae though, dropped. That and most of the chapters really just revolves around the Mc and the love interests being chumy chumy. I got bored and irritated, been skimming through around the tale end of the 2nd volume due to how bad it got for me.

Needless to say, still relatively enjoyable, especially for those who don’t think too much and read between the lines whilst reading. For me sadly, not my cup of tea. The romance and pacing gave me a bad impression. Plus the excessive drinking of practically everyone in the novel, most I can remember now is the Mc, her lackeys and what not, and the love interests just drinking dozzens of bottles if not barrels of alcohol.

  • After a bit more reading and deliberation. The more the novel goes on, the more insufferable the romance gets personally speaking. Red flags blaring all around.

Gonna give the benefit of the doubt given that it is supposed to be a mismatch between medieval and modern settings for better or worse. In any case, despite what the novel and mc might say, as far as romance goes, it just gives off a vibe of being easy or goofy, in a bad kind of way mostly. The Mc seems to be a rather easy woman or at the very least relatively easy going and trusting type for the worse to be blunt. In nicer words, yours truly the typical oblivious, carefree, and somewhat innocent young maiden. The Mc kinda lacks some senses for danger and totally ignorant if not arrogant of her own charms as a woman, or in a nicer way simply oblivious and carefree. Nd despite being somewhat prepared and have some sense for danger, of course she’d throw all away in the face of a pretty face and for the sake of romance to as far as the first volume goes, she insists it is all but friendship. Point is, stupid, seemingly forced and rushed.

As far as romancd fantasies goes, I suppose it is more or less fine but otherwise not impressive if not deplorable personally speaking. I think the romance has started to ruin the novel for me.

    • Though to be fair, it could also give the impression of a genuinely good man and woman with a genuine relationship that isn’t necessarily riddled with convoluted romance given how and where the novel as far as vol. 1 went by was thus far but yeah. A tall high tale fantasy indeed.

  • Okay, more than a halfway through the 1st volume near the tail end and the romance is becoming unbearable and horrid. Personally, it comes off to me as rushed and forced, though have read worse things from others but that doesn’t necessarily make it any better either. Despite the counter argument or so by the novel, it makes the Mc seem like a rather easy woman or at the very least one of those typical airheads to be rather blunt. In nicer terms, the Mc is relatively oblivious and carefree about her safety and charms.

In any case, I think the romance is starting to ruin the novel for me. Though as far as fantasies goes, I guess this goes as well as a fantasy romance story goes but yeah.

Compelled to skim if not entirely skip parts where it is more or less just the Mc getting mushy mushy with a love interests or so, despite her and the novel saying that she ain’t that easy but who knows, depends on how you look at it perhaps. Forced and rushed for me.

  • Interesting enough, don’t really have anything too notable, for better or worse.

Though if anything, I’d say I found the romance part and phasing somewhat distasteful. Basically just as when the Mc cuts it off with her soon to be husband, of which was kinda weird in the first but meh, soon after another love interests appears for the Mc to have a budding romantic relationship with or so. In modern terms, it reminds me of the nature of rebounding that and other try hard foolish distractions nowadays. As for the novel itself, gonna give it the benefit of the doubt given it is supposed to still be situated within the medieval ages so kinda wonkey plus I think this is actually also Isekai. The glow up is also kinda questionable but also understandable.

All in all, I find the novel to be okay if not relatively good, though not that good.

  • Sometimes while reading, I almost forgot this novel is about magical tools, not food and alcohol lol

  • I can’t hold it when her fiance chooses another woman named Emilia… Is this a Re: Zero reference!?
