  • This series just keeps on getting worse. Started out interesting then enter the usual idioticancies as well as perverted humors then here with vol 4 clearly being filled with fan service.

Only somewhat liked vol 1, the rest is really not worth it.

  • Volume 4 was like 90% filler… Not that this has an overarching story, I think, but that’s how it felt. Pics were nice though

  • The humor is right up my alley the scene where she “throws the towel” I found hilarious… and, it intensifies in volume 3 but the fact that a lot of people are trying to make her out to be a shadowy mastermind by theory crafting on what the characters know of the plot is super funny, it’s a bit impressive too, but the best part is that she wants to deny it and does her best to do so, and realistically too, and no one ever believes her. And in her zeal to not pull something her acquaintances might mistake as shadow brokery she ends up doing the very mastermind move she wanted to avoid… I love that trope.

I think is because she has that initial thing that she wants to keep hidden about how God favored her and made her one punch girl that she gets caught up in a web of misunderstandings and I enjoy it quite a bit

  • Usually I’m no fan of little girls’ stories and here I made an exception since she is growing up fast and doesn’t stay little for too long. And I’m glad I did, it really is hilariously funny. The MC tries her hardest to not stand out and live an uncomplicated, relaxing life but of course the harder she tries the more goes wrong. I really had a great time reading this.

I also like that she is, in some regards, realistic. She knows she is invincible, she knows she is stronger but when facing a monster for the first time she is terrified, frozen, unable to do anything.
Since in her prior life and now as a noble she never had much experience with other people so she is timid and scared no matter how excited at the same time when she starts going to the academy.

Of course it has tons of tropes as well, the MC is a klutz at most times, gets easily lost in her shoe locker, is envious that her best friends breasts grow faster than hers and so on. This is Japanese comedy after all.

    I can really recommend it!

  • ROFL. You do realize your own president is a walking example of this trope, right? Ya know, the guy who can’t keep his hands off little girls, and can’t stop sniffing their hair in public, while on TV?

  • I see the woke brigade is out in force.

The perverted old guy is a standard trope in Japanese comedy, and if you don’t like it, don’t read Japanese light novels, because I assure you, 90% of Japanese humor is going to offend you. Save your virtue signaling for those who pretend to agree with you to so they can feel smug about their braindead parroting of the false “morality” of the woke.

    • found the pedophile

      • I’ve been reading the comments (not read this series) but that doesn’t make sense. How does mentioning the “perverted old man” trope relate to pedophilia? Even in this specific case if we’re talking about that headmaster scene; where exactly is the pedophile? Wanting to grope tits is like the opposite of pedophilia.

Look I’ve complained about pedo stuff in LN’s myself but in this case going by what everyone has written it seems like TAS is right and it’s just a difference in culture. Not to mention the setting in the book with maids and nobles and all that, what’s a little groping in a sitting of masters and servants?
(by the way think about this, we “grope” pets all he time)

      • Yeah, you definitely never watched or read Dragonball, Ranma 1/2 and all the other classics.

The scene was obviously a comedy skid.

And it gets even “worse”, in vol. 2 the MC herself has a real fixation on her friends bigger breasts and that’s also a very ordinary trope in LN’s.

  • second TheFool’s comment. story was meh and nothing special/intriguing. it was a tiny bit fun at first but then the gags became old really quickly. the story don’t seem to be going anywhere, there are literally no stakes at play, and it feels more like slice of life rather than “adventure”. Then came that scene with the headmaster. This is spoiler for the story but i feel like potential readers should be warned about this. Keep in mind that the maid that was assaulted is the MC’s “best friend” and has been with her since she was young. The maid is still very VERY young herself and the headmaster is the GRANDFATHER of one of MC’s friend… and saying the MC didn’t do sh!t was an understatement. That teacher that was with them actually did more for the maid than the MC.

I wouldn’t recommend this in the first place since if you like air-headed comedic FMC Tearmoon Empire is SO MUCH better. Actually interesting storyline progressive, well developed characters, and much better humour. But with that last part with the headmaster… yeah… no. wouldn’t touch this series again with a ten-foot pole.

    • yeah i usually like these kinds of turning my brain off trashy light novels which is why i read this one to the end but the headmaster definitely killed all my enjoyment and im 100% not gonna read the next one
hard agree on tearmoon empire, it’s super funny with loveable characters and a competent story

  • while the story is nothing special, i thought it was good enough to waste a few hours of my time
but then they just had to include a scene where the academy’s headmaster makes his first appearance, and, upon meeting our protagonists for the first time, he sexually harassed the mc’s maid, literally started groping her breasts from behind with zero repercussions and it’s played out as just ‘one of his quirks’
the maid by the way is like 15 or so
why do these fucking light novels insist on being fucking weird and gross? what the fuck did this scene add to the story?

  • Just passing by to show appreciation to whoever localized that title to english.

  • I read Vol 1

And while there are some interesting takes and decent writing, this LN also has a shortlist of themes that i personally dislike:

    – MC is verging between too Airheaded and too Whiny when decisions or simple thoughts have to be done

    – I really dislike the “MC does X, but everyone else thinks its Y” trope. At certain points, MC´s behavior is completely misinterpreted, but MC is unable to get out of a airhead&whine cycle to actually say something
