Shiori is an average Japanese office worker who was suddenly teleported to another world. Four years later, she’s managed to carve out a niche for herself—as a housekeeping mage.
Alec is an A-rank adventurer, just returned from a long-term assignment. When his friend Zack, the local Guild Master, tempts him into going on a manticore hunt by promising to bring in a mage with special skills, what Alec finds is the last thing he could have expected.
On the outside, the two couldn’t be more different. Yet deep in their hearts, they each yearn for the same thing: a place to belong. In the face of old wounds, their dark pasts, and the everyday challenges any adventurer must overcome, will they find the courage to risk being hurt again?

Contrary to the other comments so far, this is a nice read.
It does offer a “in media res” start with the Isekaied MC already in the middle of her adventuring career and having gone through quite a tribulation.
Contrary again to the so far only two comments, the way the MC uses her magic is clearly described as being within the trope of “imagination is best, having a modern times education means having a better understanding of cause and effect” as well as clearly being described how her magic spells are different from attack-only mages and such.
I do not really see a good resemblance to story and events in the first two volumes in the comments here.
The more pressing points are that the MC and the SINGLE LOVE INTEREST (there are others, yes, but its not a harem or otome thing, for fucks sake) are emotionally (and physically) scarred from previous relationships and their actions and thoughts reflect that.
IF you have issues with past abuse being described, read with care.
Its not heavy on anything, the entire read is pretty light and fun, but there “already happened and the love interest catches up” back-explaining does bring stuff up.
A nice slice of life read with a different take on personal relationships and a different take on what a MC can and should do.
Reminds me somewhat of the “…something something with SOAP” LN.
Because of what you’re saying I took another look. So I opened the last release (4, also took a look at 2 and 3 btw) somewhere in the middle and what do I get page after page after page of otome type dialog. I noticed how often the word beautiful was mentioned so I did a search. Guess how often it’s in there? Thirty friggin’ five times. That should give you an idea of what kind of dialog we’re often talking about here.
Yeah you got me good there, not otome etc. Ha ha.
I stand by what I said before and I don’t see any significant kind of improvement over what I read of the first vol.
I thought this would be a fun read but I did not have fun reading it at all. I was very disappointed.
I thought this would be good but it’s not. I think it’s mainly suffering from an author wanting to do something different just for the sake of doing something different. Wile ignoring the fact that doing something different that isn’t actually an improvement is pointless. Well that and the main character?; the girl wo got isekai’ed is just meh.
We have an isekai but told from the perspective of a native (Alec). Who also -cliché cliché- turns out to be royalty. But anyway it’s just not that much fun to have the story told in a second hand way. I pretty much stopped reading about 13% in when Alec declares to win over the isekai’ed girls heart. Kind of out of the blue suddenly turning the story what ya ma call it otome? Which pretty much cuts off any path for the girl in question to develop anything fantasy world impressive. The only thing she does is make things more comfortable playing maid. It’s also quite unbelievable (literally) that the things she does are considered impressive in such a fantasy world. Any decent mage should if we “keep it real” be able to do such things imo, no otherworldly factor required. How she ever was promoted to B rank as an adventurer is beyond me as she has no offensive or defensive capabilities. The only way she can survive a B level threat is by bein lucky and relying on others to “carry” her.
