Oversummoned, Overpowered, and Over It!

Name’s Inori Takafuji. I’m not really much of a “go-getter,” if you catch my drift—sleep’s more my style—but getting summoned to another world kinda messed things up. Bit hard to chill when you’ve got a king in your face telling you there’s a bad guy you’ve gotta go slay or whatever, you know? Plot twist, though—it’s actually not so bad. Getting the hero treatment sounds pretty nice, right?

But then it happens again! Some other clown summons me, I get my obligatory superpower, and off I go. And sure, that’s fine. It happens, sometimes you get isekai’d to the wrong place. But then it happens AGAIN! Someone ELSE summons me, I get ANOTHER superpower, and then I’m somewhere totally new. Repeat ad nauseam.

All right, goddess, where to next? And lemme just say this—the next time I get summoned better be my last, because I am so over this!

  • So the series got axed, so this story is complete more or less. Yeah, 2 volumes were the whole series.

  • if you like Evil MC then its recommended.

im already read the web novel far away, the gimmick is MC is got summon, reject summon reject, summon reject, summon reject, until losing it own humanity and identity

mc don’t have moral he is pure lazy & evil as you think.

  • Just don’t hold your breath for a volume 3, the past to versions had their Japanese versions out for about 3 years before being in english, and a third volume has yet to be made in japan.

  • The comments here are … less than objective, i guess?

MC “is weak half the time” because he gets turned into a vampire.

MC is pretty much a “selfish” character, doing things that suit him, including killing people.

All in all, LN up to Vol 2 is a decent read. I would recommend at least parsing the first volume.

    • That’s the thing, much readers are not into that kind of MC, they don’t get the charm, neither do I. But yeah, if you can get around volume 1 just fine then the rest should be enjoyable for you.

    • I’m just not into this sociopath MC since he doesn’ have anything likeable about him. He’s just an egoistic asshole who doesn’t care one bit about his friends and ready to kill them off himself whenever the mood strikes him.

Some might like such a villain as MC but for me the problem is, I might get into one of the likeable companions but I know I can’t get invested in them since the MC might snuff them out anytime.

  • The MC is an evil guy and not much fun. Unlike in Overlord he just doesn’t care about other people and feels nothing killing even friends. Also he is not actually overpowered since his main power comes with a huge weakness that makes him weak and useless for half a day every day.

Else, the story is pretty decent. But be aware, many characters you get to like during the span of volume one will be killed off in the end.

The problem with the sociopath mc is that his character is inconsistent. That takes a lot from the credibility. Either make him evil and not care at all and ready to kill his “love interest” any time or give him at least some consciousness. But not this switching back and forth.

  • the mc is pure evil and that un expected twist.

anyone who read this please don’t drop your guard.

  • We’re privy to the MC’s internal monologue so when he randomly turns into a total sociopath it’s a huge breach of continuity.

Yes, the author “cleverly” hinted at it by making the MC literally spelling it out at some earlier point, but that was just more confusing since he wasn’t acting consistent with that confession.

It’s just really bad, don’t waste your time like I did.

  • There’s a lack of clarity in MC’s endgame. And he’s a pesky little shit who’ll infuriate anyone with a right mind to no end. If you’ve got certain unorthodox tendencies, then sure, go right ahead and indulge yourself in reading it, for this may well be your saving grace.

  • Simply put, this is an over-the-top edgefest.
If you’re into that kind of thing, you may enjoy this. If not, your time would be better spent on something else.

  • Wow, I thought the leaders of the kingdom were assholes, but the MC takes the crown on how low he willing to go. Instant drop for me, not willing waste any of my brain cell from reading anymore of this edgelord author’s drivel.

  • Don’t read it if you’re not into sociopath MCs and badly delivered plot twists.

  • the manga version is more hilarious. he is so edgy that it becomes unbearable.

  • So how similar is this to planet of the orcs?

  • 90% of the book he’s a boring annoying Jackass and then becomes a sadistic annoying jackass.

  • I regret reading it. Not a fan of this kind of main character

  • Ive read the manga before so i gonna compare it to the ln

  • i start to wonder, does japanese people that thirsty for having multiple partner that if the author dont put harem tag in it, their novel not gonna sell???

  • I didnt expect much at first, the title and synopsis screaming “yet another boring standard isekai with stupid beta protag”, but I was wrong and it was unexpectedly good!

This series is parodying ton of cliche which both fun and funny, but don’t be fooled, this series is not as lighthearted as is appeared to be. And despite tons of stacked cheat, the protag is not OP right away but gained it from grinding and challenging powerful boss, also his power has some heavy restriction so he is not always be OP. In addition, the turning point and plot twist of this story is so unexpected and thrilling despite the hints scattered in the writing!

All in all, A fun read, can’t stop reading for whole night 😀

Read if you want some funny isekai action with a low-budget korean Demiurge terroring the world as your protagonist!

  • The greatest twist a novel can pull of? First seems awful and then suddenly becomes amazing. Biggest threat? That people will drop before the twist. This novel fails and not even becouse of that. Instead it forgets the second part of the twist: “and then suddenly becomes amazing”.

Yep, the twist happened. I didn’t expect it, but it was foreshadowed. The problem is, it’s still just bad and boring. And nothing in the description of the second vol makes me think it will fix itself. It’s just a disappointment for everyone, who wanted to see the greatest twist.
