The story is about a man whose compulsive tendencies make it impossible for him to keep a job and a young girl who skips school and loves insects. The two meet, come to support each other in reintegrating into society and fall in love. There’s a problem, however: namely, the parasites in their heads.

Parasite in love

This will be a mainly subjective review.

The author is Sugaru Miaki who also wrote Thee Days of Happiness, which got adapted into a manga that I read, and other light novels like Pain, Pain, Go away which I am planning on reading.

This is one of the first light novels I read which ends in a single volume and isn’t a complete series. I must say that I liked it a lot. Some points in the story did feel a bit forced and inorganic. I enjoyed the use of different phobias and parasites in this light novel, it gave it something original and mysterious.

The way the relationship between the two main characters slowly grows was great. And it made everything that happened afterwards even better.

If you want an interesting and good romance story I suggest you give this one a read. It is definitely worth it. Overall I give this story an 8,5/10.
